Inspired by the Holy Spirit, in 1989 Bishop Nathaniel Curtis and the ministerial staff of Crusaders for Christ Church, Inc., which included Bishop Ernest Folston, Jr. (a.k.a “Supt.”) purchased a fully furnished and equipped church building in Sanderson, Florida (Baker County). In the winter of the following year revival began at the recently purchased facility. Immediately, the youth of the community were drawn to the ministry’s preaching, teaching and music ministries. The youth witnessed about Jesus and the ministry of “Supt.” to their parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles through out the community. Going door to door, to card houses and juke joints, they risked being cursed, mocked, and ridiculed. As a result of the youths’ witness the membership grew. Membership that originally consisted of 5 adults and several youth rapidly grew into the hundreds.
Observing Bishop Folston's dedication to the ministry and the members’ love for Bishop Folston and his wife, Bishop Nathaniel Curtis, the founder, installed Bishop Folston as Senior Pastor of Crusaders for Christ Church at Sanderson, Inc. in the Summer of 1990. The church progressed from one service a week to weekly scheduled worship one service a week to weekly scheduled worship services, bible studies, prayer meetings, choir rehearsals, and free academic tutorial services. Traveling over 100 miles round trip, Bishop Folston and his family provided teaching, preaching, tutoring and ministry to Sanderson and the surrounding communities.
Believing that 2008 is a year of change and new beginnings, Bishop Folston changed the name of the ministry to Kingdom Christian Fellowship International, Inc. Kingdom Christian Fellowship International, Inc. serves and ministers to Baker, Union, Columbia, Duval, Union and Alachua Union, Columbia, Duval, Union and Alachua Counties, as well as the nation and world. Today, Kingdom Christian Fellowship is a growing, maturing interracial, bi-lingual, non-denominational ministry of reconciliation that seeks to empower the body, soul, and spirit.
